Components of our Problem Youth Program:

Assessment and Screening: The program typically begins with an assessment to identify the specific needs and challenges of each participant. This assessment may include evaluations of their physical health, mental health, academic performance, family dynamics, and social environment.

Individualized Treatment Plans: Based on the assessment, individualized treatment plans are developed for each youth. These plans outline the goals, strategies, and interventions needed to address their unique challenges.

Counseling and Therapy: Problem youth programs often include individual and group counseling sessions. These sessions may focus on addressing issues such as anger management, conflict resolution, communication skills, and emotional regulation. Therapists and counselors work closely with participants to provide guidance and support.

Academic Support: For youth struggling with academic performance, we may offer tutoring, homework assistance, and educational workshops. The goal is to help participants improve their academic skills and stay on track in school.

Skill-Building Workshops: These workshops provide skill-building exercises on various topics, including life skills, decision-making, problem-solving, and goal setting. The workshops empower participants with practical tools for personal growth and development.

Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment: This includes substance abuse education and prevention efforts. For youth with substance abuse issues, there may be opportunities for detoxification, counseling, and rehabilitation.

Recreation and Leisure Activities: We help youth to engage in in positive recreational activities which are essential for youth development. This module offers sports, arts and crafts, music, and other activities that promote healthy leisure time.

Family Involvement: Involving families is crucial for the success of problem youth programs. Family therapy sessions, parenting classes, and support groups may be offered to improve family dynamics and communication.

Mentorship: Pairing youth with mentors or positive role models can have a significant impact. Our mentors provide guidance, support, and encouragement to help young people make positive choices.

Community Service and Restorative Justice: This module incorporates community service as a way for youth to make amends for their actions and learn about responsibility and accountability.

Aftercare and Follow-Up: For this program to have any chance of success, we include aftercare services to provide ongoing support and prevent relapse. Follow-up assessments and check-ins help track progress and address any emerging issues.

Crisis Intervention: HOTT has protocols in place to address crises or emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants.

Case Management: Dedicated case managers work with each youth to coordinate services, track progress, and ensure that the individualized treatment plan is followed.

Cultural Sensitivity: We pride ourselves on being culturally sensitive and responsive to the diverse backgrounds and needs of participants.
