Nasyr Mathis Chambers, B.A.,

Junior Board Member, Helping Ourselves to Transform (HOTT)

Nasyr Mathis Chambers is a rising leader in public policy and social justice, currently holds his B.A. in Public Policy and Political Science at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. As HOTT’s Lead Intern, he contributed to legislative efforts including the Maryland Fair Taxation for Justice-Involved Individuals Act and the Maryland Death in Custody Oversight Board, advancing equity, transparency, and accountability. He has also led youth prevention panels, developed legislative presentations on Maryland youth crime, and advocated for safer communities. On campus, he serves as Treasurer of the Black Student Union and as a Student Senator, where he supports fiscal accountability for more than 30 student organizations. With experience in political advocacy, mentorship, and community engagement, Nasyr represents the next generation of changemakers committed to systemic transformation.
