Sonja Owens is a woman driven by compassion, tenacity, empathy, and resilience, dedicated to guiding others toward more fulfilling, emotionally stable, and productive lives. Professionally, Sonja’s commitment to helping others inspired her to pursue advanced education in the field. She earned a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2020 and obtained a State Board License as a Graduate Professional Counselor in 2022. She is a State Board Licensed Certified Professional Counselor (LCPC).
Sonja is working with Helping Ourselves to Transform to advocate for men, women, and youth by supporting their journey toward mental and emotional stability. She empowers them by teaching effective coping skills, helping set realistic goals, and fostering self-advocacy. Sonja aims to support individuals overcoming mental health challenges and advocate for those suffering from compounded mental and emotional distress due to incarceration
