Working with Helping Ourselves to Transform (HOTT) has been an incredibly enriching experience. As an Operations and Development specialist, I’ve had the opportunity to dive deep into the world of grant writing and social media management, two key areas that help sustain our organization’s mission. Collaborating with passionate individuals dedicated to rectifying systemic inequalities has strengthened my commitment to social justice, particularly in advocating for Black and Brown youth. Each day at HOTT offers valuable lessons in nonprofit operations and has broadened my understanding of decarceration efforts. The experience has not only been professionally rewarding but has also nurtured my personal commitment to radical love, inclusion, and civic engagement.
