Her primary career spans 31 years in Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) workplace safety regulatory compliance for construction companies that employ formerly incarcerated individuals. Her secondary career, spanning 21 years, involves adult education, including Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED, ESL for Life Skills, and Workforce Development in correctional facilities, community colleges, non-profits, and faith-based organizations.<\/p>\n
Boyer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (Pre-med) with a major in Chemistry\/Education and a minor in Education from Mississippi Valley State University. Mississippi Valley State University is the first HBCU in the state of Mississippi to provide college degrees to persons incarcerated. She also earned a Master\u2019s in Industrial Hygiene and Safety from the University of Washington, Seattle. Boyer is the first African-American to obtain an MS degree in Environmental Health from the University of Washington in 1997. She is certified to teach Adult Workplace English as a Second Language (ESL) OSHA 10\/30 Construction Industry, and OSHA HAZWOPER.
