DaMarqus, a remarkable individual, recently emerged from a daunting 14-year prison sentence, originally facing an unimaginable 85-year term when he was just 16 years old. During his incarceration, he dedicated himself to the law library, tirelessly working towards his release while also finding a profound sense of purpose in assisting others behind bars. Fortunately, fate smiled upon him, and he was granted his freedom.

Today, DaMarqus stands as a dedicated advocate within Helping Ourselves to Transform, equipping men, women, and youth with the essential tools to reintegrate into their communities from the confines of incarceration. As a devout Muslim of 16 years, his unwavering focus remains on personal growth within his faith and championing social justice and human rights awareness for the Muslim community.

DaMarqus is on a mission to bridge the divide through education and understanding, dismantling stereotypes and misunderstandings that have made Islam a target for hate crimes and physical abuse against Muslim individuals, regardless of age or gender. His commitment to fostering empathy and unity within all communities is unwavering and resolute.
